Azerbaijan is considering the matter of introduction of electronic declaration in order to simplify customs procedures.

Today in Baku TRACECA national coordinator Akif Mustafayev has informed that currently Azerbaijan is studying prospects of introduction of electronic customs declaration system within the framework of TRACECA and introduction of E-Government Program.

The Azerbaijani Tax Ministry held a board meeting to discuss the obligations to execute President Ilham Aliyev’s decree on electronic services today.

The meeting discussed an action plan for 2011-2012, within which it is planned to create a special section on e-services on official online resources.

By late this year, it is also planned to complete the necessary measures to ensure personal data and operations technical security carried out through these electronic services, as well as payment of fees in real time.

In accordance with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's order on some measures in the field of provision of e-services by government agencies, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan starts the analysis of the current situation to develop specific measures in this regard within three months, Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology Iltimas Mammadov said.

Mammadov said the Presidential order determines the specific directions for the transition to e-government and use of e-services in the territory of the Republic.

The order tasks the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies to accelerate the interaction with other government agencies.

Preparations for electronic tax accounting of individuals have started in Azerbaijan.

Board meeting was held at the Taxes Ministry in connection with fulfillment of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s decree on “Some measures for the organization of e-services provided by state bodies” signed on May 23, 2011, Taxes Ministry reported.

It was noted in the meeting that interesting novelties were expected during the coming years.

On 23 May 2011 Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree "On measures for the application of e-services by state agencies”. Since this decree is of importance both in developing e-government and further strengthening the fight against corruption, News.Az interviewed Fuad Alasgarov, head of the Presidential Administration's department for work with law-enforcement agencies.
