The ICT journey of Malaysia’s Melaka State Government is typical – it also faces the challenges of having information and systems in silos. The ICT division, which handles most IT needs centrally, has started to control and consolidate its assets. A Common data centre and a disaster recovery centre are being built; standards are being put in; and effective management practices are being introduced and evaluated.

The new voluntary vehicle ownership transfer service, which is an initiative by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) and e-government service provider My E.G. Services Berhad, gives owners and eventual buyers a convenient option to transfer vehicle ownership electronically.
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha said the present system required both the seller and the buyer to be present at the JPJ office and provide all relevant documents.

Disclosing this here yesterday, Sabah and Labuan MCMC Director Bukhari Yahya said he is confident MCMC can provide the facility to 500 more villages (on top of the 800) by the end of this year.
