The Water Asset Management Company or Pengurusan Aset Air Berhad (PAAB) is a wholly owned entity under the Ministry of Finance. It forms part of the Federal Government’s efforts to restructure the water services industry in Malaysia to achieve efficiency and quality in the delivery of water services to the public.
In a little over half a century since, Malaysia is sitting at a tipping point, on its way to becoming a high-income nation and knowledge-based economy that is set to continue to grow and become a formidable presence across the globe.

Ten years ago when we started e-government we called together the key industry players and ‘web shapers’ from other countries to come and sit with us in the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU), to look at our requirements and propose to the government which applications should be built. At that point the internet was new, and our approach was shaped by international trends.
Its director-general Datuk Raslin Abu Bakar said the programme to be fully implemented next year, would include the transformation of physical facilities, activities and material collection following increasing number of its visitors in cyber space through its website.

However, few in Malaysia are familiar with the Global Information Technology Report (GITR). It is perhaps time that we acquaint ourselves better with the GITR.
