The Land Department, Government of Dubai, that manages the sale and purchase of land in Dubai, has stepped up its customer service by joining Dubai eGovernment's AskDubai contact center to provide information by telephone, fax or email.

Dubai eGovernment has created a role model for Arab governments who are keen to catch up with the rest of the world in migrating their public services to electronic channels, said Salem Al Shair, Director, eServices, Dubai eGovernment.

Dubai eGovernment has launched a monthly magazine under the name 'e4all' to keep citizens and the business community in the Arab World updated on the latest eServices available in Dubai.

Marwan Al-Naqi, General Coordinator of e4all magazine The magazine is part of Dubai eGovernment's efforts to extend the e4all concept to different aspects of a citizen's life and promote eLiteracy among the community.

The UAE Ministry of Finance and Industry is today organizing a workshop about the vision and strategy of the E-government and the pre-requisite technical and legal systems needed to implement the project.

Senior federal government officials and members of the E-government coordination committee are to attend the one-day even which is being held at the Beach Rotana Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

PC penetration in the Arab world is poised to record a rapid increase within the next few years, with many of the countries crossing penetration levels of 20 per cent. This augurs well for the various e-governance projects launched by the different governments in the Arab countries, according to Salem Al Shair, Director eServices, Dubai eGovernment.
