The Dubai eGovernment stand at Gitex Dubai 2003 will witness participation by 21 government departments and ministries who will showcase a host of online services offered through the unified portal www.dubai.ae.

The departments will demonstrate the applications of several systems deployed by Dubai eGovernment to enable them to deliver services through multiple channels, including mDubai, the channel for mobile services, and AskDubai, the state-of-the-art contact centre.

Dubai e-Government yesterday launched a host of innovative channels, services and initiatives including mDubai, e4all, eLibrary, e-Job and AskDubai, which will complement the portfolio of 600 online services currently offered by the government.

Salem Al Shair, director of eServices, said these new strategies will considerably boost the capabilities to deliver eServices to the community and businesses, and take Dubai e-Government closer to the goal of providing over 70 per cent of public services online by the year 2005.

Dubai eGovernment today announced the launch of a host of innovative new channels, services and initiatives to complement the portfolio of 600 online services currently offered on its portal www.dubai.ae, as part of an ambitious strategy to accelerate the momentum towards electronic services on the eve of its second anniversary, which falls on October 19. The new offerings, announced at a pre-GITEX press conference, include mDubai, a new channel that has been developed to deliver messages through mobile phones and PDAs, e4all, a community IT literacy solution, eLibrary, the online library service, eJob, the online recruiting service, and AskDubai, the state-of-the-art contact centre.

DubaiTrade.ae, the newly launched online portal, will help Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) customers save time and resources in processing transactions, as well as strengthen its e-government services, said officials.
