October marks the second anniversary of Dubai Municipality's interactive website which is continuing to expand.

Some 56 e-services are now provided to residential and business customers, as well as a directory of services carrying information about 263 services. The site, www.dm.gov.ae, was launched in October 2001.

The Dubai eGovernment has announced the official launch of a unified Contact Center, an integrated communication system available to all government departments, aimed at providing customers with multiple communication channels, phone, fax or email, for all kinds of services and inquiries round the clock.

Dubai eGovernment is set to offer yet another channel of customer interaction with the launch of m-Dubai, a brand-new project aimed at delivering messages to citizens through mobile phones, PDAs (personal digital assistants) or the Web.

The Ministry of Health will launch 12 new e-projects worth Dh185 million in May, as part of the e-government project, said Hassan Ahmed Al Elkeem, Undersecretary of the ministry.

The ministry has adopted a comprehensive plan for switching over to e-services, so as to improve the quality of services and save time and effort.

The UAE Ministry of Finance and Industry (MoFI) received an official government delegation from the Omani Ministry of Industry and Commerce (OMIC) interested in learning more about the UAE's Duty Exemption Online Service (DUTEX).
