Draft law On Informatization as of May 8, 2003 not meets with formed socioeconomic requirements and regulation processes of informatization in Kazakhstan. The main purpose of this project is to develop Kazakhstan’s information infrastructure including formation of e-Government, e-Akimat and construction of clear delimited chain of management in informatization field, Current Chairman of Kazakhstan Agency on Informatization and Communication Kuanyshbek Yesekeyev underlined.

Greater emphasis was placed on reduction of “information inequality” (peoples' computer literacy). Therefore the authors of e-government introduced a corresponding program for 2007-2009. Next year summer schools plan to attract more than 1000 teachers and 2000 students to train Kazakhstan nationals. If the problem of peoples’ computer literacy is not settled then the interactive services will be unclaimed, PM noted.

The visit of Kazakh delegation was aimed at studying the experience of Singapore’s electronic government system implementation for integration of information systems of Tax Committee and Customs Control Committee of Kazakhstan Finance Ministry within the framework of the e-Finance Ministry project.
