The federal government has kick-started a pioneer programme to train members of Kano executive council on e-governance and digital transformation.

This, it said, is to develop the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy (NDEPS).

The programme was initiated to give special training to top government officials in the state on modern technology adoption, in order to improve their performances at all levels while delivering services to the general public.

In its fulfilment to enable the development of National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy (NDEPS), the federal government of Nigeria, through the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, under the leadership of honourable minister, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, has kick-started a pioneer programme to train members of Kano executive council on e-governance and digital transformation.

The programme was initiated to give special training to the top government officials in the state on modern technology adoption, in order to improve their performances at all levels while delivering services to the general public.

The director general of the National Information Technology Development Agency(NITDA) Inuwa Kashifu Abdullahi, has said that cloud computing is important in fostering Nigeria’s digital economy, stressing that it plays a significant role in migrating processes online quickly and efficiently.

He described cloud computing as the essential way of delivering services especially in database, networking, artificial intelligence and analytics over the internet, to offer faster innovations, flexible resources, reduced IT costs and better security.

The Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) has partnered with The Nigerian Institute of Town planners (NITP) for better physical planning and development in a bid to promote and achieve a livable, environmental friendly Smart City status in Lagos.

In a statement on Wednesday, General Manager of LASBCA, Gbolahan Owodunni Oki commended the Institute for its immense contribution to the development of Lagos State through their professional expertise for a well-planned city.

The past year has witnessed a multitude of accomplishments.

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) is the apex regulator of Information Technology (IT) in Nigeria, under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.

Created in April 2001 to implement the Nigerian Information Technology Policy and co-ordinate general IT development in the country, the agency derives its mandate from the NITDA Development Act (2007).
