By using modern technology to revolutionize several facets of their economy, many countries are presently enjoying profound global interests and investments. In Africa, Rwanda and Ethiopia are prominent examples of countries that are substantially investing in digital artifacts to achieve a correspondent value in their natural and human endowments.

It is thus not surprising that in Lagos State, the Babajide Sanwo-Olu led government is keen on making Lagos the fortress of digital enterprise, an urban hub of innovation and commerce and a fertile market for imperial investment. With a well-designed roadmap, the administration has been working hard to improve the efficiency of services and eliminate redundancies in major sectors as a sure way to make Lagos livable and more productive.

Lagos State government has enjoined governments at all levels to adopt e-governance in order to effectively serve the citizens, disclosing that the state implemented a 3,000 km of Fibre Metro Network connection in the Year 2020 and an additional 3,000km in the Year 2021 across Lagos.

The State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Mr Hakeem Popoola Fahm, made this call, on Tuesday, during the 2021 Ministerial Press Briefing to commemorate the 2nd Year in the office of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration held at Alausa, Lagos, saying the implementation was part of the comprehensive Smart City Programme that seeks to provide a 24-hour driven economy.

Anambra State scored a remarkable feat on March 30 by becoming the first state in Nigeria to bring together eminent stakeholders in a conference to singularly address the obstacles facing broadband deployment and expansion in the country. The well-attended conference rallied stakeholders and investors to Anambra State’s readiness and willingness to expand broadband infrastructure for accelerated socioeconomic development of the State celebrated as “The Light of the Nation”.

Chief Willie Obiano, Governor of Anambra State, takes pride of place as the first leader in South-East Nigeria to implement the waiver of the per linear meter Right of Way (RoW) charges as opposed to the N145 per linear meter recommended by the National Economic Council.

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu says his administration would support the Digital Switch Over (DSO) being embarked by the country, saying it would enhanced job creation and content development.

Sanwo-Olu who acknowledged that the DSO would be of immense benefits to residents said Lagos State would be providing publicity support for the rollout.

Anambra State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano, has convened a stakeholders’ forum as part of plans to boost the South Eastern (Nigeria) State’s broadband infrastructure.

The forthcoming Stakeholders’ Forum on the theme: “Facilitating Broadband Access in Anambra State through a Favourable Right of Way Regime”, is scheduled to hold on March 30, 2021 at 02:00 pm (West African Time); with Federal and State Government officials, members of diplomatic corps, investors, industry associations and other are expected participants.
