The Lagos State Government is set to officially re-launch its citizen registration programme in March.

This would lead to the issuance of residents in the state with digitally enabled “New Lagos Resident Card” for personal identification and accessing the state government’s services such as transport, health, education, entertainment, pension, social benefits among others.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has approved the construction of a N1 billion Digital Park in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Professor Adeolu Akande, Chairman of the Commission, made this disclosure during a meeting with youth leaders across the state at an end of the year session in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

Already billed as “Jewel of the Atlantic”, the 308-hectare man-made island, reclaimed from the Atlantic Ocean, has the look of the country’s smartest community as the world’s next 5G-driven destination, in addition to being the site of Nigeria’s next iconic landmark, Africa’s tallest skyscraper, a definite eye-popper when completed.

Ocean City Lagos’ combination of lavish futuristic offerings and pristine charm, the latter making it the direct opposite of the choked Lekki Residential Scheme 1, Ikoyi and Victoria Island neighbourhoods.

A real estate firm, GodMade Homes Limited (GMH), has urged the federal and state governments to digitise home delivery to enhance access to home schemes and reduce housing deficit in the states.

Its Chief Executive Officer, Ayo Olanrewaju, noted that the process would bring convenience to all given that information could be accessed and exchanged between the ministry and the public.
