Despite the disruptions to the world economy, ocassioned by the COVID-19 pandemic, it has also been confirmed that different sectors of the economy that quickly readjusted their operations, integrating technology solutions fared well.

At a recent Nigeria e-Government Summit in Lagos, different sectors of the economy gave account of how technology helped them navigate the murky economic waters heralded by COVID-19.

The National Assembly has promised to introduce electronic parliament or E-Parliament in the year, 2021 to meet with international global best practices.

This was made known by clerk of the National Assembly, Mr. Ojo Olatunde Amos during the retreat organized by the National Assembly management, in Abuja.

Participants at the Nigeria e-Government Summit 2020 have stressed the need for early adoption of technology and increased ICT infrastructure across the country to promote economic growth and e-Government.

The summit, which was held in Lagos recently and organised by DigiServe, had the theme: COVID-19: Impetus for Accelerated e-Government Adoption.

Muthialu said the project will also create significant economic opportunity, building on the influence of Lanseria International Airport, in the vicinity of marginalised communities like Diepsloot.

A team of professionals who was appointed by Gauteng provincial government to draft a Greater Lanseria Master Plan said it had completed the plan and it had been made available for public comment.

Stakeholder engagement director for Greater Lanseria Master Plan team, Nomi Muthialu said, “The draft of a Greater Lanseria Master Plan has now been completed and it has been made available for public comment during a 30-day comment period commencing on 4 November and ending at close of business on 4 December.
