Sidec is back with the first hybrid digital convention since the pandemic

The Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec) will be launching its sixth edition of the Selangor Smart City and Digital Economy Convention on Nov 19.

Being part of the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2021, the theme of the sixth Selangor Smart City and Digital Economy Convention at the KL Convention Centre is “Digital Transformation Towards Economic Recovery”.

The Sarawak civil service is undergoing a journey of digital transformation towards a world-class government administration and to ensure transparency, integrity and accountability.

Chief Minister Datuk Abang Johari Openg said the government is often perceived by the public as one of the sectors very susceptible to corruption in the economy of any country, particularly in developing countries.

MY E.G. Services Berhad (MYEG) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Institute of Industrial Internet & IoT, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) of China for the international extension of China's national blockchain network, Xinghuo Blockchain Infrastructure and Facility ("Xinghuo BIF"), by introducing backbone and supernodes outside China to be known as Zetrix.

Malaysia is looking forward to its 2030 ambition of becoming a Digital Nation and multiple goals are currently being laid by all ministries, stakeholders, agencies, and infrastructure planners.

Among the goals is to turn some of the cities into smart cities but what does a ‘smart city’ mean. The Smart City Council defines them as one “that uses information and communication technology (ICT)to enhance liveability, workability, and sustainability. All definitions have one element in common, they agree that at the core it’s about leveraging new and disruptive technologies to address a broad range of urban problems.

The Pengerang Smart City Action Plan 2030 is currently being drawn up to ensure sustainable development in the municipality.

Pengerang Municipal Council (MPP) president Fizwan Mohd Rashidi said a research proposal for the action plan was presented to Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ismail Abd Muttalib during the latter’s working visit to Pengerang.
