A few weeks after the UAE Federal eGovernment released the eGovernment Service Enablement Policy, the e-government programme’s steering committee is well on its way of the second phase of the project, said Ahmed bin Ghannam, eGovernment project manager of eCompany, the strategic technology partner of the Federal eGovernment team.

The whole Policies, Standards and Procedures project is divided into three phases. Overall, the eGovernment steering committee plans to develop about 80 different policies and standards. So far, 25 policies have been created in the first phase of the project but only three have been published.

Dr. Ali bin Abood The Ministry of Finance and Industry (MOFI) and the Civil Service Bureau (CSB) have agreed on the need to train the administrative personnel of human resource (HR) departments on the implementation of the Human Resources Management System (HRMS), which is an offshoot of MOFI’s e-government initiative.

The recommendation came at a workshop conducted by MOFI and CSB recently to review the recommendations and goals of the assessment phase of the HRMS project, as well as introduce the preliminary services to be implemented under the project.

The Building Department at Dubai Municipality on Monday launched a new online system for building licensing and control.

The new system is a comprehensive online system for receiving, processing, following up, delivering, evaluating and archiving of all 101 Building Department services.

The new system serves all those who work in the construction sector including consultancy offices, contracting companies, décor companies, demolition companies, and property owners. The system also includes a detailed, comprehensive and dynamic database of buildings in Dubai. It can be offered to concerned departments in the Municipality through direct link or through GIS.

Dubai eGovernment has announced that it is hosting the website of Dubai Women Association (DWA) (www.woman.ae) on their eHost Plus solution.

The website will provide an effective platform for DWA to provide detailed information about their various activities and projects to the public.

The Dubai government will create new opportunities for job seekers and employers in the Emirate through the eJob portal that aims to provide enhanced employment services for both locals and expatriates in the public and private sectors. Previously servicing local citizens for job openings in the public sector only, job seekers can now post their CVs on the bilingual eJob portal (http://ejob.dubai.ae) and search for available full-time and part-time vacancies, while employers will be able to advertise positions and access a rich database of candidates, searching for those with the qualifications and skills needed for their businesses.
