The UAE Ministry of Finance and Industry (MoFI)'s e-government team today discussed the latest developments in the implementation plan of eProject system with H.E Ibrahim Abdul Malik, Under Secretary- Ministry of Public Works (MoPW).

Held in the Ministry of Public Works headquarter, the meeting was attended by Dr. Emir Mavani, the Federal e-Government Programme Director at MoFI, and officials from eCompany Etisalat's one-stop e-powerhouse business unit which is the technical partner of Federal e-government for all the ICT needs of the project.

The Civil Engineering Department (CED) of Dubai Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) has launched ‘ePermit’, an innovative application that provides online access to engineering consultants to the building permit process, ePermit enables engineering consultants to apply for and obtain building permit for any development project within the various business units under the purview of the department, via the Internet.

Following a comprehensive assessment of the received applications by engineers at CED and the Environment, Health and Safety and Fire Protection Departments, applicants are sent feedbacks from the various engineers involved in the review process for any clarification, objection or compliance requirements regarding the relevant engineering standards and construction regulations.

Dubai Municipality is to bring in 27 next-generation e-government services in the next six months, as part of a project it is working on with IBM. For the vendor, it represents its first regional win for its service-oriented architecture (SOA), the company’s new application framework.

IBM will work with Dubai Municipality to implement the online framework to ensure the Municipality’s e-government infrastructure keeps pace with the city’s spectacular rate of growth.

The Civil Engineering Department (CED) of Dubai Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) launched ePermit, an innovative application that provides online access to Engineering Consultants to the Building Permit process at a grand ceremony held at the Emirates Tower Hotel in Dubai.

ePermit enables engineering consultants to apply for and obtain Building Permit for any development project within the various business units under the purview of the Department, via the Internet.
