eCompany will roll out the BizDirect ePayment service to various service providers who can be easily integrated into banks connected to eCompany’s network. The solution is based on eCompany’s proven and secure ePayment platform and facilitates direct debit using the standard Internet banking infrastructure of the banks. Payments can be initiated online by the service provider and the final authentication is carried out by the bank online. To illustrate, if a business or consumer wants to avail of some Government services, such as application for visa or payment of commercial license fees, the user can log on to the government portal, fill in the required forms for services and when it reaches the payment stage, he is presented with an options screen listing the participating banks. The user can choose his bank and an authentication screen will pop up. Upon successful authentication, the transaction is authorized and debited by the Bank.
According to Ahmad Abdulkarim Julfar, General Manager, eCompany, “The launch of BizDirect will provide greater convenience and a rapid response for businesses in terms of payment, since payments will be guaranteed and will be activated in real time.
“Businesses will have an alternative to offline methods like cheques to settle payments. This will bring down frauds and bad-debts related to cheques not being honored by payers. Payments through BizDirect will be cheaper, faster and more controlled, generating less administrative overheads and enabling better use of company resources. We have ambitious plans for BizDirect considering its attractive potential and we are in talks with other leading banks and various service providers across the UAE. We hope to have several banks and service providers connected to the service by the second quarter next year.”
