Huawei is implementing for governments and enterprises across the region to help build smarter and safer cities.

The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) Chief Executive Mr. Mohamed Ali AlQaed visited the Middle East headquarters in Bahrain of Huawei, the leading global provider of ICT infrastructure and smart devices. The Huawei team, led by the Huawei Bahrain CEO Jon Lu Yuedong, showcased a range of innovative solutions that Huawei is implementing for governments and enterprises across the region to help build smarter and safer cities.

Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry has organised a workshop on information security for its staff.

Held in coordination with the Information and e-Government Authority (iGA), the workshop is within the Ministry’s programmes to raise awareness on information security, promote the cyber-security culture and develop its staff’s capabilities to deal with security risks when using government or personal computers.

Customer satisfaction level of online services provided by Bahrain’s Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) has reached 78 per cent, according to an annual study.

The customer satisfaction levels were measured through a comprehensive survey from the Bahraini BHCSI model that is established by the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) to measure customer satisfaction.

Amid the security challenges and accelerated technical changes, Information Affairs Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi has directed the ministry’s officials to work together with government institutions to reach policies and controls for the safe use of social media platforms.

In implementation of the directives, the ministry has launched a cooperation initiative with the eGovernment Authority and University of Bahrain on the safe use of social networking platforms through the government work system, Assistant Undersecretary Abdullah Ahmed Al-Blushi said.

The growth of ePayment value across various eGovernment channels in Bahrain reached 12 per cent during the first quarter of 2018 versus last quarter of 2017, said a report from Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA).

Values reach more than BD23 million ($60.7 million) were completed from January to March 2018 with an increase of 10 per cent in number of financial transactions.
