Customer satisfaction level of online services provided by Bahrain’s Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) has reached 78 per cent, according to an annual study.

The customer satisfaction levels were measured through a comprehensive survey from the Bahraini BHCSI model that is established by the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) to measure customer satisfaction.

The growth of ePayment value across various eGovernment channels in Bahrain reached 12 per cent during the first quarter of 2018 versus last quarter of 2017, said a report from Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA).

Values reach more than BD23 million ($60.7 million) were completed from January to March 2018 with an increase of 10 per cent in number of financial transactions.

Information Affairs Ministry’s Undersecretary, Abdulrahman Mohammed Bahar, has reviewed technical cooperation with the Information and e-Government Authority (IGA) on re-engineering the Ministry’s electronic procedures and services, developing its technical projects and protecting its information systems, in addition to enhancing cooperation in the field of electronic systems.

While chairing the joint technical meeting, along with IGA’s Acting Deputy CEO for Electronic Transformation, Dr. Zakaroya Ahmed Al-Khaja, in the presence of the Information Affairs Ministry’s Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Affairs, as well as directors and officials from both sides, Bahar lauded IGA’s efforts to provide government departments with integrated and advanced services and projects and enhance the efficiency of information systems and networks, praising its contributions to consolidating Bahrain’s leading e-government status at the international level.

Bahrain’s Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) recently conducted a workshop on system development projects attended by more than 50 IT specialists of government and semi-government entities.

The workshop on ‘Policies, Standards and Best Practices for Applications Development’ by the Enterprise Architecture & Information Technology Directorate comes in line with the efforts exerted by the ICT Governance Committee (ICTGC) that aims at achieving more accomplishments in the field of IT infrastructure and development of IT systems.

Government Service Centers Evaluation Committee Chairman Mr. Mohamed Ali AlQaed, Chief Executive of the Information & eGovernment Authority, announced the circulation of the ‘Government Service Centers Evaluation Guidelines’ to all entities following its approval by the Organizing Committee headed by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad AlKhalifa – the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister. The Guidelines were prepared alongside requirements of the Government Action Plan to manage change, communication as well as create major transformation within the culture of the public sector. He also announced that initial evaluation will begin on 25th February for 50 centers distributed throughout the Kingdom.
