His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Premier and Chairman of the Informatics and Telecommunications Technology High Committee, has presided over the committee meeting attended by Deputy Premier Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and committee members.

The committee reviewed the e-Government Strategic Performance Indices accomplishments in 2017 of more than 90% of its strategic goals, including the development of 40 online services to satisfy the needs of users, registered more than 75,000 user passwords which already exceeded the yearly specified target of 50,000 users.

The meeting also reviewed the development of four comprehensive governmental systems aimed to boost government decision-making mechanism which already exceeded the specified yearly target of developing two systems, in addition to the surge in the number of financial transactions across various e-channels reaching 41% with a total of 1,000,000 transactions worth BD 74,000,000.

And in the light of the committee’s approval of these accomplishments, HH Shaikh Mohammed praised the committee members for their efforts and achievements in collaboration and coordination with the governmental directorates, asserting the importance of maintaining the steady accomplishments and fast moving to upgrade the services and rearrangement of priorities regarding projects implementation in harmony with the Government Action Plan and Bahrain’s Economic Vision2030.

The committee also discussed the Comprehensive Record Scheme which will provide the authentic e-platform for documentation and displaying of all governmental services as the main point of reference for the public to obtain any information related to any service.

The committee stressed the essential mustering of efforts by all the ministries and governmental directorates to achieve that within the shortest possible period and method. The committee also discussed the National Notifications Scheme to convey governmental notifications to the relevant citizens and residents through SMS and email instead of paper correspondence.
