A system to monitor municipal violations and provide a comprehensive database of the offences was launched yesterday.

Through a single electronic portal and electronic devices, it will also help check the status of existing violations and the whereabouts of inspectors.

The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) has launched a host of new ePayment services in cooperation with the private sector, the latest being self-payment kiosks in partnership with leading payment channel, Sadad.

This is in line with its commitment to provide a range of digital platforms and payment channels to the public, and streamline government transactions, said the statement from iGA.

Bahrain has participated in the 17th conference for ministers responsible for higher education and scientific research in the Arab world, which was under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. The conference was entitled “Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Education: Challenges and bets”.

The Education Minister Dr Majid Al Nuaimi headed the Bahraini delegation The conference reached a number of recommendations, including working to develop general policies and implementation plans to enhance the use of AI in several fields such as education and scientific research, it aimed to prepare teachers to work on AI education and support applying AI education.

Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) Chief Executive Officer Mohammed Ali AlQaed chaired a Government Service Centre Evaluation Committee (Taqyeem) meeting, which reviewed the evaluation of government service centres and different ways to improve performances.

In attendance was Ministry of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for International Affairs, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Centre for Strategic and International Studies and Energy Studies, and Taqyeem Vice-Chairman Dr Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa. Mr AlQaed praised the efforts of the committee in developing the performance of government centres, expressing his hope for continued improvement.
