The Dubai Government Excellence Programme (DGEP) has been awarded the 2007 United Nations Public Service Award in the 'Improving of Delivery Services' category in West Asia region.

The Award, the most prestigious international recognition of excellence in public service, will be presented during a formal ceremony on the opening day of the 7th Global Forum on Reinventing Government to be held in Vienna from 26-29 June.

All government e-services, from paying traffic fines to getting ID cards, can be done online sitting at home or at a net cafe by next year, a senior official said.
