E-Governance could be the catalyst for addressing more complex areas of governance that challenge the Arab world, according to Tarik Yousef, Dean of Dubai School of Government.

Yousef's comments came at the opening session of the 3rd Working Group meeting on E-Government and Administrative Simplification, and a high level seminar on 'Measuring and Evaluating e-Government'.

11 departments to participate under Dubai eGovernment’s umbrella

Dubai eGovernment, a pioneering initiative in the region to provide online services, will promote its online learning service eLearn and iRecruitment service, the online recruitment portal supported by Department of Government Information and Resource Planning which will provide opportunities for all national graduates and job seekers, at the Careers UAE 2007 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre on March 13-15, 2007.

Dubai eGovernment, which will set up on stand Z-D2 of Zabeel hall, will be joined by HR personnel from Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority, Dubai Civil Defence, Dubai Courts, Dubai Police, Dubai Public Prosecution, Entrepreneur’s Forum, Financial Audit Department, Department of Naturalization and Residency, Government Information Resources Planning Department in the Ruler’s Court, Department of Finance and Etisalat Academy at the Careers Fair.

The Dubai School of Government will host the 3rd Working Group meeting on E-Government and Administrative Simplification and the High Level Seminar on 'Measuring and Evaluating e-Government' from 12-13 March.

It will focus on measurement and evaluation of e-government projects and initiatives and simplifying government processes in the Arab region.
