The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) is continuing its concerted efforts to make its popular website more user-friendly, offering a wealth of useful information and online services.

The website is attracting an average of 1.5 million visitors a day as global interest in Dubai as an ideal year-round business and leisure destination remains unfaltering, according to Mr. Suhail Buhelaiba, DTCM Manager Information Technology.

DubaiCityGuide.com, the dedicated portal on Dubai today announced the launch of the mobile version.

The Documentation and Information Section at the Municipality recently received a delegation consisting of the representatives of International Council on Archives and National Archives of France.

The visit was part of the Municipality's efforts to benefit from pioneering international experiences in the field of archives management. The meeting also explored channels of cooperation and exchange of information in order to benefit from French and international applications in archiving and other related fields.

IT Standards to improve information sharing and integration across Government Entities and bring numerous benefits to delivery of Government services

The Abu Dhabi Systems & Information Committee (ADSIC), established to drive the transformation and modernization of government services in Abu Dhabi, today issued a set of extensive and comprehensive Information Technology (IT) Architecture & Standards Reference Manuals to Abu Dhabi Government Entities. These Reference Manuals, the first of their kind in the UAE, provide the guidelines, requirements, facilities and constraints necessary for uniform development and maintenance of government services.

Dubai Municipality has announced the successful attainment of a key milestone in online service delivery with 90 percent of all services now available online, a full year in advance of the schedule laid out by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The announcement, made at a press conference yesterday (Wednesday, November 8, 2006), cements Dubai's standing as a leading eServices hub in the Middle East.
