Transforming Government since 2001
Residents will be able to complete all their government transactions at one place and in minutes in a few years time, said the Minister of the Governmental Sector Development.

Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri said the ultimate objective of e-government is to enable people to carry out all their transactions from one place.

He was speaking at a Ramadan majlis in Jumeirah. Dr Ali Bin Abdullah Al Ka'abi, Minister of Labour, and Al Mansouri met a number of businessmen and officials at the majlis and discussed strategies of the federal government in which e-government plays a central part.

e-gate

Residents will be able to access the so-called e-gate for any governmental enquiry. The e-gate is the future counter where residents interact with different government agencies. The e-government project started in 2001 and all ministries are required to first develop their own online services.

In the second stage, a database linking all government institutions will be set up to provide easy and quick access for applicants.

"We see development as an evolution not a revolution and therefore we believe in slow but sustainable development," said Al Mansouri.
