The e-Government Program 'Yesser' has extended its support to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia e-Government Summit. The event is organised by Naseba, a business information company, and will take place during June 6th - 7th at Radisson Blu (SAS) in Riyadh.

Director General of Yesser, Eng Ali Al-Soma will be delivering the opening speech at the summit.

He stated "The Government of Saudi Arabia has attributed much focus on developing and implementing new e-Government related projects to facilitate the services provided towards citizens and businesses in the Kingdom. We aim to raise the public sector productivity and efficiency through implementing the relevant e-Government projects using latest technologies. We believe that this summit will provide and showcase the latest trends in the IT industry and throwing light on the cutting-edge technologies dedicated e-Government."

The Ministry of Interior has improved its e-services program, known as Yesser, for citizens, expatriates and the business sector, according to a recent government report.

The ministry has introduced more than 71 services related to passports, Civil Status, Traffic Police, Police and other sectors.

The e-government program is aimed at ensuring that all government services are eventually electronic, to reduce visits to government agencies.

Prince Muhammad bin Naif, assistant interior minister for security affairs, on Saturday launched a new electronic service system for Saudis and expatriates.

People can access the service by logging in to the website www.epassport.gov.sa.

“This system will enable Saudis and expatriates to receive all types of services such as issuance of passports, birth certificates or other documents electronically without visiting their offices,” the prince said during the opening ceremony.

The King Abdullah Initiative for Arabic Content in Saudi Arabia and the UAE’s twofour54 are both pioneering projects that collectively seek to further enrich and enhance the quality of digital Arabic content.

Badr Ward, CEO of Ertiqa, a leading provider of mobile and digital content in the Middle East, said that the “digital library” supports publishers and developers of digital content by providing a user-friendly and secure platform to host the most comprehensive range of Arabic digital content.

Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) has launched an E-Authentication & Certification Service in cooperation with House of Development (HOD), a software and document security solutions company based in Jeddah Saudi Arabia.

The new electronic authentication and certification system will be integrated with "YESSER," the e-Government Program in Saudi Arabia.

Countries all over the world are making the transition to e-Government so as to establish a secure mechanism to receive electronically certified documents and authorizations and make it easier, safer and faster for public officials to validate documents and e-signatures.
