The ministry has introduced more than 71 services related to passports, Civil Status, Traffic Police, Police and other sectors.
The e-government program is aimed at ensuring that all government services are eventually electronic, to reduce visits to government agencies.
The improvement was achieved with the support of Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior; Prince Ahmad Bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Minister of Interior, and Prince Muhammad Bin Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Assistant Minister for Security Affairs. The assessment report, issued at the beginning of this year, cited the huge improvement at the ministry between the second and third assessment. It was estimated that the ministry improved by 84.06 percent.
The report stated that a notable improvement was seen in several aspects of the electronic service, most significantly the ministry’s institutional system for electronic dealings, the technical structure that backs up these dealings, the information environment, and the comprehensiveness of the services.
The ministry has sought to introduce services to the public through its web portal, self-service machines, text-messaging and other means.
