The emirate of Sharjah has set out its plans for digital transformation at the Gitex 2017 event in Dubai
Six new and updated websites, 13 smart applications and an array of digital services have been launched at Gitex 2017 by Sharjah’s Department of eGovernment (DeG).
The prime purpose of all this making life more convenient for residents of the emirate, according to Sheikh Khalid Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, director general at Sharjah DeG.

The Ministry of Finance (MoF), launched its new eCloud service technology for federal entities’ financial and HR systems, in collaboration with the Federal Authority of Human Resources (FAHR) and Oracle International. This technology provides a secure IT infrastructure, with minimal intervention from operators and system administrators. The launch took place during the Ministry’s participation in GITEX Technology Week 2017.
The eCloud service is a portal that allows other federal entities to access HR resources and financial system training through customised profiles, enhancing the efficiency and security of IT infrastructure across the government.

Mashreq Neo aims to transform the traditional banking landscape in the UAE

These are the words of Aref Al Ramli (pictured right), Regional Head of Digital Banking for Mashreq, after the UAE-based lender launched Mashreq Neo, a full fledged digital bank that transformed the traditional banking landscape of the country, on October 1.
The new digital platform aims to boost trade
Abu Dhabi Ports has launched Maqta Gateway, a digital platform which provides digital services to different entities including shipping agents, traders, freight forwarders, custom brokers among others to boost trade and efficiency.
The new system was inaugurated in the presence of Shaikh Hamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court on Tuesday.
As part of Dubai’s e-government innovation agenda, DIFC Wills and Probate Registry has launched the world’s first Virtual Registry.
Designed for overseas asset-holders, the new smart service enables eligible investors living outside of the UAE to create, register, witness and store a Will for Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah assets from anywhere in the world.
