Meet Sharjah's new superheroes: Viro, Unity, Noman, Tina and Captain. They are the characters in Sharjah eGovernment's updated augmented reality game called Sharjah Land, each playing a specific role.

Unveiled at the University of Sharjah on Wednesday, Sharjah Land, which was initially launched during Gitex in Dubai last year, is primarily aimed at children aged 9-12 years old. It will "instill positive values in the youth of the UAE by enabling players to interact with Sharjah Land's team of superheroes who work together to create a positive and fulfilling society," according to the Sharjah Department of eGovernment (DeG), which conceived and developed the app.

New service is in-line with DeG's mission and strategy to incorporate the highest, environmentally-friendly and sustainable standards

As part of its commitment to environmental sustainability and mission to become one of the leading activists in reducing paper waste, Sharjah Department of eGovernment (DeG) has dramatically decreased a reliance on paper processes thanks to its adoption of Zajel correspondence electronic communication software.

The Ministry of Finance (MoF) and the Federal Electricity and Water Authority (FEWA, have signed an agreement to adopt the e-Dirham system to enable FEWA to receive service fees electronically.

The agreement aims to enhance FEWA’s efforts to facilitate the collection process for its clients which will increase customer satisfaction and strengthen its institutional work.

The Human Resources Department of Ras al-Khaimah (RAK) has launched the first comprehensive smart reading application in the UAE called "Our Resources Read". The application provides various reading services and is considered to be among the department’s creative initiatives in the promotion of reading for all employees of the Ras al-Khaimah government, Wam reported. The department launched the application in coordination with the e-Government in Ras Al Khaimah.

Effective from the beginning of the year 2017, all cars registered in Ajman will be renewed using the smart service and motorists will not have to visit the police centre for renewal.

This comes as part of the ambitious plan of Ajman Police turning its services into e-government, thus accomplishing the transactions of clients in less time and effort.
