Emirate boasts very strong data and experience-driven smart city strategy.

Dubai's smart city vision will rely on a complex network of interconnected technologies such as Arificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), and blockchain to tackle challenges such as sustainability, infrastructure quality, investment and funding, environmental quality, job generation and digital public services.

Experts say that Dubai has already launched several smart city entities and initiatives that will address these challenges to attract investment, create jobs and boost competitiveness. These include the establishment of Smart Dubai and the Dubai Future Foundation, as well as the Dubai Data Initiative, the Dubai Blockchain Strategy, the Happiness Agenda, the Dubai AI Roadmap, and the Dubai Paperless Strategy.

Key factors critical to building successful digital enterprises in Dubai/UAE are identified as providing a clear digital vision, aligning business and IT strategies and nurturing digital talent.

Organised by S P Jain School of Global Management (S P Jain) the annual IT Management Conclave 2018 is being held at Taj Dubai, UAE on Wednesday (24 October) where its annual Industry Survey findings were released.

The Abu Dhabi City Municipality has launched a Geospatial Information Management System, GIMS, a sophisticated smart electronic system for soil database that contains all geotechnical, geophysical, hydrological and environmental data, displayed on interactive geological maps.

The project has been undertaken in the context of the Abu Dhabi Emirate’s vision, a strategic plan designed particularly for the development of Abu Dhabi. It is also intended to complement the Emirate's future vision and establish a modern society and a competitive, sustainable and globally open economy with an advanced and innovative digital system.

DLD launched 'Dubai REST' as a quantum leap in smart transformation

Dubai Land Department (DLD) participated in ‘A Week without Service Centres’ initiative which will be held from 21-25 October, under the theme ‘A week Without Waiting... Without Parking Traffic...Without Papers,’ to enhance its contribution to this vital initiative launched by Dubai Department of Finance for the second consecutive year, with participation from all official entities and departments in the Emirate.

Etisalat appointed as the department's digital, ICT and smart solutions provider

Etisalat and Fujairah Department of Public Works and Agriculture signed a Memorandum of Understanding to further enhance smart e-government initiatives by providing the department with innovative digital, ICT and smart solutions.
