Hundreds of digital services being offered by government entities in Dubai are to be evaluated as the emirate seeks to enhance its reputation as a smart city.
Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Wednesday directed the start of a comprehensive evaluation process for more than 1,300 digital services provided by ministries and federal government agencies.

Health insurers in the UAE have reported that a big jump in policyholders using telehealth services during the ongoing coronavirus crisis compared to pre-pandemic levels.
According to new research from global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal, the Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated telehealth usage across the UAE, with virtual health services "here to stay".

An Amazon Web Services region is being created in Abu Dhabi next year as part of the emirate's efforts to attract investments that build technology capabilities.
Abu Dhabi Investment Office said Abu Dhabi’s digital economy will be boosted through the launch of the AWS Middle East (UAE) Region in the first half of 2022 which aims to accelerate cloud adoption and empower organisations to innovate faster.

Dubai Executive Council gives green light to plan for 3D printing zone which will be located at the Expo 2020 Dubai venue
Dubai has announced plans to establish the first specialised 3D printing zone to further support the development of the technology in the UAE.
The plan was approved at a meeting of the Executive Council chairman by Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
