As one of the national cybersecurity strategy pillars

The General Authority for Regulating the Telecommunications Sector (or “TRA”) launched the National Cybersecurity Capacity Building Program, a core program within the National Cybersecurity Strategy. The Program aims to develop highly efficient national capabilities in protecting the cyberspace and addressing relevant risks.

The Program also aims to develop the capabilities of youth in cybersecurity, whether professionals or those working in areas related to IT and Computing, or students and amateurs, thus contributing to enhancing the readiness of UAE to respond to cyber incidents and supporting research and innovation, while safeguarding the digital infrastructure of the country.

The Executive Team for Online Services Index (OSI), an indicator of the UAE Vision 2021 National Agenda, held its twenty-sixth meeting, under the slogan “Together towards the first place”. The meeting, which is the first for 2020, was held at TRA Dubai office, headed by H.E. Salem Al Housani, Acting Deputy Director General for Information and e-Government Sector and Head of the National OSI Executive Team, and attended by members of sub-teams representing various local government entities in the UAE.

This meeting aims to review the team’s highlights for 2019, and the level of achievement in standard initiatives. It also included a session for innovation and future foresight.

Users can submit, sign documents digitally without visting service centres via single app

More government and private sector services have been added to the UAE Pass, allowing users to digitally sign and verify documents without visiting service centres, officials announced on Tuesday.

The UAE Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) says the number of participants over two years in its crowdsourcing campaign to develop the UAE government portal (u.ae) exceeded 34,000. The initiative drew more than 17,300 contributors in 2019, it added. Contributions included comments and suggestions about the overall content of the portal.

TRA published a survey to facilitate participation in the campaign. The campaign went through several phases, starting by inviting the public to suggest new topics for the portal, receiving suggestions and inquiries, and listing and analysing suggestions.

The UAE Ministry of Economy has announced the 10th edition of its Annual Investment Meeting to be held on 24-26 March, 2020, under the theme “Investing for the Future: Shaping the Global Investment Strategies.”

The event will bring government leaders and officials, economic experts, global investors, entrepreneurs, and experts from more than 140 countries to Dubai for the event held under the patronage of of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
