Electronic seal ‘Ethaq’ ensures authenticity of documents using UAE PASS

The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Courts has acquired the qualified electronic seal solution Ethaq, a paperless initiative that enables digital authenticity of documents with the support of UAE PASS, the secure national digital identity platform for the UAE.

Ethaq certificate is powered by Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC) and its Root Certificate Authority. It recognises the DIFC Courts as the first Dubai entity to acquire the entirely paperless certificate that enables court documents to be electronically signed, issued, and authenticated.

Singaporean companies will submit solutions to address challenges identified by Abu Dhabi entities

Abu Dhabi Investment Office joined forces with Enterprise Singapore (ESG), a government agency championing enterprise development, and its subsidiary IPI Singapore to accelerate smart city development in the emirate.

Under the agreement, Singaporean companies will submit solutions to address challenges outlined by the Abu Dhabi-based entities.

Abu Dhabi has been ranked 11th in the Global Technology Index based on the World Digital Competitiveness Yearbook 2020 released by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), represented by the Competitiveness Office of Abu Dhabi (COAD), and the Department of Government Support – Abu Dhabi (DGS), represented by the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority (ADDA).

To deploy stronger critical infrastructure protection capabilities

Department of eGovernment (DeG), the government entity supporting the digital transformation vision of Sharjah, has signed an agreement with EVOTEQ, a digital transformations solutions provider for leading enterprises and governments through their digitization journeys to help secure smart cities and the critical infrastructures of the emirate.

Under the terms of the agreement, EVOTEQ is set to deploy its global experience and expertise in cyberspace to assist DeG in providing local government entities with cyber defensive and offensive capabilities. Such specialist capabilities will enable public sectors to address cybersecurity issues in their networks and prevent any breaches.

UAE-based airline Emirates and the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) have announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which will position Dubai as one of the first cities in the world to implement digital verification of traveller medical records related to Covid-19 testing and vaccination.

Under the agreement, Emirates and the DHA will work to link the IT systems of DHA-approved laboratories with Emirates’ reservations and check-in systems.
