Sheikh Rashid Bin Ahmed Al Maktoum, Chairman of RAM Investment, has announced a partnership with Europe’s leading artificial intelligence (AI) venture studio and ecosystem Merantix to conceptualise the AI City Dubai, a proposed free zone where impactful AI solutions will be pioneered, implemented and scaled.
AI City will be a global AI hub, powered by smart city infrastructure that connects AI research institutions and talent with leading homegrown and global startups, corporations and investors. The project will work closely with universities to attract, train and upskill talent.

du will pilot and demonstrate smart city solutions powered by 5G communication and edge computing technologies from a 5G MEC server or platform from the Khazna Data Centre.
du has joined forces with Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) and Derq under a strategic partnership to power DIEZ’s Freezones with a portfolio of cutting-edge capabilities and competitive smart city solutions. A signing ceremony to mark the partnership was attended by top representatives and employees from both parties.

The Higher Committee for Government Digital Transformation held its first meeting, chaired by Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and The Future and Chairperson of the Committee, with the attendance of Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Teleworking Applications and Vice Chair of the Committee.
During the meeting, the committee showcased 10 projects aimed at strengthening integration, readiness, competitiveness and government digital services, as well as ways of supporting the new generation of government's smart services.

RTA Dubai App surged from 20,000 to 45,000 transactions per day this year
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed the automation and renovation of public parking machines across the city, with touch screens and issuance of e-ticket and text messages sent to mobile phones using the mParking system.
RTA said in a press statement on Tuesday that going automated in line with meeting “the needs of the Smart City initiative and Dubai Paperless Strategy.”
