A project to unify services provided by Bahrain’s General Directorate of Traffic and the Electricity and Water Authority was announced yesterday (March 17) at the Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2015.

The 'Unified Interface for Services' concept seeks to provide convenient ways to access the services through one outlet with added benefits through the 'eKey' service. The results of a study conducted by the eGA about the effectiveness of eServices were revealed yesterday.

The authority was able to achieve 79.4 points on the Bahrain Customer Satisfaction Index (BHCSI), exceeding global benchmark of 70 points for business sector, according to the results of the study conducted in collaboration with Bahrain University.

Dr Al Khaja announced eGA's adoption of the Key Performance Indicators related to BHCSI.

eGovernment Authority (eGA) Vice CEO Dr. Zakareya Ahmed Al-Khaja announced eGA’s adoption of the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to Customer Satisfaction Index (BHCSI) which was carried-out in collaboration with the University of Bahrain. He also revealed the results of the indicator and the study that was conducted in 2014, based on professionalism and transparency.

The announcement was made during a press conference that was held on the second day of the Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2015, which included the faculty of Information Technology College at the University of Bahrain - Head of Information Systems Department Dr. Jafla Al-Ammari, along with Dr. Hayat Al-Ali and Dr. Amal Al-Rayes; together with Dr. Al-Khaja.

Bahrain's eGovernment Authority (eGA) is developing a platform to measure the interaction on different channels such as social media, a top official has said.

eGA deputy chief executive Dr Zakareya Ahmed Al Khaja said it was observed that Bahrain's market is recognising the mobility aspect and based on such observation, the authority is focusing on providing services through its mobile channel.

He said this while presenting Bahrain's National eGovernment Strategy 2016 on the second day of Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2015 at the Isa Cultural Centre.

Bahrain has made successive accomplishments in eGovernment within a very short time, Deputy Prime Minister and Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology chairman Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa said yesterday.

Citing Bahrain's 18th position among 192 members according to the UN eGovernment Survey, the Deputy Premier said this year's edition of the Bahrain International eGovernment Forum coincides with the initiation of government's policy directions towards conversion into electronic transactions and application of best practices in the eGovernment field.
