Die 'Signaturinitiative Rheinland-Pfalz' eröffnet eine Geschäftsstelle. Diese soll die Verbreitung von elektronischen Signaturen in Rheinland-Pfalz fördern. Ab sofort erhalten Bürger, Wirtschaft und Verwaltung unter der Telefonnummer 01805-61999 Informationen zu rechtssicheren elektronischen Unterschriften. Dazu gehören Auskünfte über Einsatz- und Bezugsmöglichkeiten sowie zu Datenschutz und Datensicherheit. Deutschland: Der Staat muss endlich ins Informationszeitalter einsteigen
Durch den konsequenten Einsatz von Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologie (IuK) in Staat und Wirtschaft könnten bis 2008 rund 75 Milliarden Euro zusätzliche Wirtschaftsleistung erbracht werden. Diese könnten auf Basis eines "IuK-Masterplans" realisiert werden, der eine e-Strategie und Umsetzungsmaßnahmen für die Nutzung von Wachstumschancen im IuK-Sektor vorgibt. Zu diesem Ergebnis kommt eine Studie, die The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Deutsche Telekom und Siemens Communications heute in Berlin vorstellten.
