Azerbaijan has accelerated the integration of open databases to the “Open Government” portal.

The head of Internal Control and Audit Department at the Azerbaijani Communications and High Technologies Ministry, Tahir Mammadov, announced about this on February 7, Trend said.

Mammadov noted that cooperation and negotiations with the state departments in this direction are carried out on a regular basis and posting of their open databases to the portal is particularly important for the development of the information society.

Azerbaijan’s Innovations Centre will soon present new services, which will be available at ASAN Ödəniş (ASAN Pay) multifunctional mobile application.

A source in the center told Trend that the application will allow to pay fees, state duties, communal public services and others.

A national web search engine may be created in Azerbaijan to provide information security (InfoSec) in the country.

A source in the country’s ICT market told Trend that local IT companies are ready to render necessary assistance to developers.

A search engine, a web-based tool, enables users to locate information on the World Wide Web. The creation of the national search system in the country requires relevant hardware and data storage system.

The number of appeals submitted to "ASAN Service", Azerbaijan’s leading e-Government institution acting on behalf and in cooperation with other state entities in public service provision, reached 13 million by late 2016, while the number of provided services hit 12,369 million.

Inam Karimov, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Services and Social Innovations under the President of Azerbaijan, made the remark while addressing a Cabinet meeting on January 10.

Azerbaijan, which has already made great strides in building of electronic government, took another step in its bid to provide a full-range of e-services in all government agencies.

President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree on the approval of regulations on electronic mortgage. The regulations specify legal, organizational and technological basics of the e-mortgage system, which aims to ensure the allocation of mortgage loans, including low-interest loans granted by Azerbaijan Mortgage Fund.
