Azerbaijan has risen by 12 points in the E-Government Survey 2016 compiled by the UN, which is traditionally published every two years.

The country went up from 68th place to 56.

Foreigners and stateless people willing to extend their stay in Azerbaijan for more than 10 days can register at their place of residence through the e-government portal e-gov.az, the Data Processing Center (DPC) of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and High Technologies said July 11.

DPC said the e-service called “Receipt of Documents for Registration by Place of Residence" is now available in the e-government portal services provided by the Azerbaijani Migration Service.

President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order on several issues of Mortgage Lending.

The order envisages creating the E-Mortgage system via E-government portal and applying the system beginning from January 1, 2017. The order outlines the procedure of mortgage lending, including easy mortgage lending, at the expense of the Azerbaijan Mortgage Fund.

The sustainable development of the sphere of information communication technologies is an integral part of the economic and political reforms which are currently implemented in Azerbaijan, Minister of Communications and High Technologies Ramin Guluzade told Trend.

“State programs which are aimed at the comprehensive development of the non-oil sector are currently underway in the country. The programs necessitate the switch of the ICT sector to the new level. Azerbaijan is the first and the only country that adopted the strategy of switch to the information-oriented society in the South Caucasus region,” he said.

E-mortgage is under introduction in Azerbaijan in compliance with the Presidential Order on Some Issues of Mortgage Lending.

Under the Order, the Azerbaijan Mortgage Fund has acquired its legal competence through the approval of its Charter, a new procedure for mortgage lending, including subsidized mortgage lending, and new powers concerning the application of e-mortgage system from 1 January 2017 via E-Government portal.
