The Enforcement Section of the Immigration and National Registration Department has gone hi-tech with the launching of its Mobile Personal Computer (PC) yesterday that can trace dubious travel documents or KPP holders during raids or inspections.
This was one of the three products launched yesterday in the department's efforts to enhance the quality of its services to the public and to empower its law enforcement via info-communication technology.

An entrepreneur said she was frustrated when she tried to apply for a commercial import permit for plants with the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources which is currently in the process of migrating their services online.

The senior official, who could not be named, informed The Brunei Times that the lag in the initiative is due to implementation of ideas which sometimes falls short within the management system of each respective ministries and could also be attributed to the lack of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Programmes.

The visit began at the NDMC building. The renovation project involves the Ministry of Home Affairs' initiative to upgrade the old Fire and Rescue Headquarters to better coordinate disaster management in the country by employing state-of-the-art technology with the capability to accommodate multi-agency workstation environment.
