Der chinesische Volkskongress wird voraussichtlich am kommenden Samstag ein Gesetz über die Einführung der elektronischen Unterschrift verabschieden. Mit dem Gesetz werden die digitalen Signaturen bei Geschäftsabschlüssen in China auf dieselbe Stufe gehoben wie die manuelle Unterschrift oder das Siegel, berichtet China Daily. Allerdings gilt das Gesetz nicht für persönliche Angelegenheiten wie Heirat oder Adoption.

Speaking at the Seventh International Conference on Human Services Information Technology Applications, Deputy Government Chief Information Officer (Operations), Stephen Mak Hung-sung, said the Government had spent more than US$360 million in the past five years on various initiatives to bridge the digital divide.
