More than 300 companies are to be trained in using the online system, as part of the first batch.
This follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding by the Tender Board and the Labour Fund to train owners and employees from the private sector on navigating the e-Tendering process.
"We created these websites as an effective medium to reach a large audience. This will be the first point of entry for anyone requiring any information on Bahrain," said EDB chief executive Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The new service will avoid paperwork, queues and delays, said Interior Ministry's undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.
He was speaking at the launch of the electronic no-objection certificate (NOC) service for visit visas, at a workshop organised by the eGovernment Agency, at the Crowne Plaza's Bahrain Conference Centre.
These are some of the first services made available online by the ministry.
Other services will be deployed on the e-government portal shortly as part of the ministry's commitment to provide world-class e-services to Bahrain's residents, said Works Ministry information technology director Hisham Sater.
