Bahrain is to host the largest information and communication technology (ICT) gathering for the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region later this year.

The conference will firmly establish Bahrain's position as the ICT gateway to the region, said Bahrain Internet Society adviser and Gulf Future Business chief executive officer Ahmed Al Hujairy.

Al Qaed: "we are ready to amend plans and initiatives based on citizens' survey results"

The eGovernment Authority today signed an agreement with the Nielsen Company, the world's leading provider of marketing information and audience measurement indices. Present at the signing were Mr. Mohammed Al Qaed, CEO of eGoverment Authority and Mr. George Mikaelian Managing Director Gulf region for Nielsen as well as other senior officials from both parties.

Bahrain’s Industry and Commerce Ministry consumer protection directorate has launched an online complaint registration service in co-operation with the e-Government.

Consumers dissatisfied with any product or service can now lodge their complaints online at bahrain.bh.

Bahrain is to establish a national call centre as part of its e-government strategy, it has been revealed.

The Supreme Committee of Information and Communication Technology (SCICT) approved a proposal to establish a new company to manage the project.

The company will be equally owned by the government and a large international company.
