The eGovernment Authority signed an agreement yesterday with Merchants, a leading provider of contact centre solutions, to establish a new company, named "Silah Gulf", which will provide a full range of integrated contact centre solutions on a local and regional level.

The partnership also paves the way towards launching the National Contact Centre, the fourth and final integrated government eService delivery channel, having previously launched the eGovernment National Portal (Bahrain.bh), Mobile Gateway, and Common Service Centres.

An agreement was signed yesterday between the eGovernment Authority and contact centre solutions provider Merchants to establish the new company, Silah Gulf.

The company will provide a full range of integrated contact centre solutions on a local and regional level.

The partnership will also pave way towards launching the National Contact Centre, the fourth and final integrated government eService delivery channel, having previously launched the eGovernment National Portal (Bahrain.bh), Mobile Gateway, and Common Service Centres.

Bahrain will share its e-governance experience at a major international forum in Italy.

Cabinet Affairs Minister Shaikh Ahmed bin Ateyatala Al Khalifa has assigned e-Government Authority chief executive officer Mohammed Al Qaed to attend the International e-Government Forum in Italy. It is hosted for officials that manage the Italian e-Government Authority programme.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President of the UAE, the Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, opened Gitex 2009 and the Kingdom of Bahrain's Pavilion at the Dubai Convention and Exhibition Center Sunday morning which takes place from 18th to 22nd October.

The Bahrain Pavilion showcases different solutions and applications offered by the private sector to deliver integrated eGovernment services. This comes as part of the Kingdom's goal of increasing the pace of growth and development of the Kingdom's private sector in the field, as well benefitting from knowledge and experience exchange and spreading awareness about the high level of quality of Bahrain's services, in line with Bahrain's Vision 2030 of economic sustainability.

Bahrain's fourth Common Service Centre was officially launched at the Capital Mall, Seef, yesterday.

Cabinet Affairs Minister Shaikh Ahmed bin Ateyatalah Al Khalifa inaugurated the ceremony, attended by Social Development Minister Dr Fatima Al Balooshi and senior e-Government Authority officials.
