The police in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar are set to enhance surveillance capabilities with the integration of drone technology with the command control centre.

The initiative is part of the safe city project under the Aurangabad Smart City Project, aimed at improving the city’s security and maintaining peace and harmony.

For giving a push to digitalisation, an e-governance assessment workshop was held under the World Bank and AIIB co-funded by Punjab Municipal Services Improvement Project (PMSIP) at Zone D office of Municipal Corporation (MC) on Wednesday.

The workshop was held under the chairmanship of MC Commissioner Sandeep Rishi.

Urban development and technology experts from World Bank, including Shashank Jayakumar, Navika Chaudhary, Graham Colclough from Scotland (through VC), Johnston Yoon from South Korea (through VC), conducted the workshop.

Chief minister Pramod Sawant said on Wednesday that Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) is preparing a detailed report on Smart City Mission works in the city, and will soon submit it to govt.

Sawant said he is “sympathetic to the hardships faced by the people”. “If you need better infrastructure, the people have to face hardships (now), so that over the next 25 years, they don’t have to face these hardships again.”

After public outcry, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Wednesday that a report on the Smart City project is being prepared which will have the details of the works completed and the actions taken against the project consultant and other persons.

“A report on the Smart City project is being prepared. Whatever work has been done so far and the actions taken against a consultant and others will be reflected in this report. We will not spend additional money on works that have collapsed, and ask the contractors to complete them soon. The report will be ready very soon,” CM Sawant told mediapersons here.
