My EG Services Bhd’s indirect associate company, PT Cartenz Inti Utama has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Jakarta Smart City Management Unit on June 5 to provide and implement a contact tracing application in Jakarta to monitor the COVID-19 spread.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the e-government solutions and services provider said the MoU is valid for one year from the date of signing and may be further extended by mutual agreement.

MYEG Services Bhd (MYEG) which offers car insurance renewal and other e-government services officially unveiled its one-stop portal for COVID-19 screening.

This one-stop portal serves to accelerate the testing of workers in Malaysia and schedule COVID-19 screening for their workforce in conjunction with the Social Security Organisation’s (“SOCSO”) Prihatin Screening Programme.

The buzzword in the automotive industry now is “Mobility as a Service” or MaaS. The meaning of the phrase and its application, however, remain a big question mark to many.

The National Automotive Policy 2020 (NAP 2020), which presents the roadmap for the country’s future mobility until 2030, has MaaS as part of its aim, along with next-generation vehicles (NxGV) and IR4.0.

Muslims in six states can now perform their zakat fitrah or "personal tithe" online during the holy month of Ramadan this year via MY E.G. Services Bhd’s (MYEG) platform following the imposition of the Movement Control Order (MCO).

MYEG executive director Datuk Raja Munir Shah Raja Mustapha said, as the leader in e-government services, it was pleased with the participation of these six zakat agencies to enable individuals to perform their zakat fitrah compared with the usual face-to-face method.

Growth is expected to be driven by smartphones, communication, HPC and IoT

The technology sector is expected to see a mixed outlook for the year — as related companies and firms strive to balance their demand and supply — amid global tech giants’ warning of demand softness along with a challenging and uncertain operating environment following the Covid-19 outbreak.

“The final quarter results were a mixed bag with under-performance or matching our expectations, at best. We started 2020 in a rather bearish stance, but since the share prices of sector companies have retraced a lot, it’s not as bearish,” Hong Leong Investment Bank Bhd (HLIB) senior analyst Tan J Young told The Malaysian Reserve in a brief reply yesterday.
