  • BH: Traffic electronic services launched

    Director of General Directorate of Traffic, Shaikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, said that within the Traffic Department's efforts to facilitate all traffic procedures concerning citizens and residents, the Traffic Department in cooperation with the e-government provides a range of electronic services aim to enable citizens and residents to carry out traffic procedures smoothly and efficiently.

    The move aims to cope with the future increasing demand expected by 6% on traffic services which is equivalent to 20,000 vehicles per year.

  • BH: Transportation Minister participates in 3rd GCC e-Government ministerial committee meeting

    Minister of Transportation, Engineer Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, today in Kuwait, participated in the 3rd GCC e-Government ministerial committee meeting.

    Kuwaiti Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the Central Agency for Information Technology, Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, chaired the meeting and highlighted technical cooperation and exchange of expertise among GCC countries to develop e-government services.

  • BH: VIVA eService on government portal

    VIVA Bahrain has launched its prepaid broadband and mobile recharge eService on the e-government portal www.bahrain.bh.

    During a meeting, at eGovernment Authority's (eGA) head office, between VIVA Bahrain chief executive Ulaiyan Al Wetaid and eGovernment Authority chief executive Mohammed Al Qaed, both parties discussed the service and ways of upgrading it.

  • BH: VIVA launches billing service on eGA portal

    VIVA Bahrain has launched online postpaid billing services through the eGovernment Authority's (eGA) national portal (Bahrain.bh).

    The service will enable customers to obtain details of their bill payment, recharge their lines, or receive a copy of paid balance via email.

    The move comes as part of VIVA Bahrain's desire to increase the available payment channels and promote postpaid billing services, including mobile phones, broadband and the Internet.

  • BH: Works ministry launches internal tenders eservice

    Bahrain’s Ministry of Works, in coordination with the Information & eGovernment Authority, has launched its new internal tenders eService.

    The eService is to be added to the other eServices available on the ministry’s portal www.works.gov.bh and the national portal Bahrain.bh.

  • BH: Works Ministry receives 975 requests during fourth quarter of 2017

    Communications Director at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning Fahad Buallay said the Directorate received 975 requests during the fourth quarter of 2017.

    Buallay added that year 2017 witnessed a leap in the performance of the directorate, which resulted in them winning ‘Best Practice in Community Participation’s Award’ of the 2017 eGovernment Excellence Award, which was organized by the eGovernment under the patronage of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information Technology & Telecommunications Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa.

  • BH: Zain implements new SIM card registration rule

    Zain Bahrain, a leading telecommunications company in the kingdom, said it has implemented a new registration process for postpaid and prepaid mobile services applications, in accordance with the latest regulation issued by the Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA).

    The new SIM-card enabled telecommunications services registration process has come into force starting from July 12, according to Zain.

  • BH:More than BD 55 mio the volume of financial payment transactions through 40 E-Government-services

    To maintain communication with Government departments and to attract various denominations of the community in order for them to join and benefit from its services, a number of integrated electronic services, including e-payment transactions have been launched through more than 40 services, the volume of whose financial payment transactions exceeded BD 55 million in cooperation with various governmental and private organizations through various electronic channels, the national electronic portal (Bahrain.bh), mobile portal (Bahrain.bh/mobile), auto-service e-Kiosks, electronic service centers, smartphone applications (Mobile Apps) harnessing secure, creative techniques and latest state-of-the-art hi-tech applications to ensure privacy and confidentiality of users' personal data.

    The E-Government Authority (EGA) launched a campaign encouraging the benefitting from electronic payment services until September, 20, 2013 with an opportunity to win a mini I-Pad device through a raffles draw. This campaign is intended to encourage users to make payment transactions through the EGA channels.

  • BTB awards over $6.9b tenders - Bahrain

    Bahrain Tender Board (BTB) has successfully awarded tenders worth $6.97 billion since its launch in 2003, a senior government official revealed yesterday.

    The minister, Dr Abdul Hussein Mirza, who is also chairman of the Bahrain Tender Board at the launch of the e-tendering project said that the initiative would enhance the transparency, efficiency and offer an easy access to the prospective bidders to evaluate their bids on-line.

    BTB, which had won international accolades for being the most transparent body in the public sector, perhaps become the first entity in the Arab world to handle the tendering process effectively by using the maximum levels of transparency.

  • Call 8000 80001 for Bahrain tourism information

    The department of tourism, under the Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with Silah Gulf – a joint venture between the UK-based Merchants and Bahrain's eGovernment Authority – launched a hotline service.

    Dial 800080001 for information on Bahrain tourism, cultural and historic attractions.

    In addition, the call centre service will provide information on other sectors of the hospitality industry including hotels, travel agencies, shopping and entertainment centres.

  • Computer skills for Bahrainis

    Hundreds of Bahrainis who have never even touched a computer keyboard, let alone surf the web, are now learning the basics in information technology, thanks to an e-Government Authority (e-GA) training initiative.

    It aims to increase IT literacy and encourage Bahrainis to use e-services available on the e-GA's national portal www.bahrain.bh.

    The training is being offered free for Bahrainis.

  • Coronavirus: Bahrain app warns users who come into contact with positive cases

    A Bahraini app will now tell users when they have come into contact with someone who has tested positive for coronavirus.

    A total of 294,516 downloads have been recorded to date of the BeAware app.

    “The app’s contact tracing feature sent push notifications and SMS messages to individuals who may have come into contact with active cases, requesting them to be tested for their own health and safety,” the Bahrain News Agency reported.

  • Creation of 'Arab Center for eContent Development' in Bahrain

    The eGovernment Authority of Bahrain and United Nations Development Program (UNDP) signed a project document to support the creation of the Arab Center for eContent Development.

    The center, which will be headquartered in Bahrain, will help grow Arab eContent and expand its quality presence with an international standard, reaching out to a knowledge-based Society.

  • Delegation of Brunei Darussalam visits Bahrain

    An official delegation from the Brunei Darussalam has recently visited the Kingdom of Bahrain and met the eGovernment Authority officials to get a closer look at the Kingdom of Bahrain experience in the eGovernment field and the transition towards a digital society.

    On this occasion, Mr. Mohammed Ali Al Qaed the CEO of the eGovernment Authority (EGA) received the Brunei Darussalam delegation headed by Mr. Dato Seri, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, Mr. Awang Abdul Mutalib, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office, Mr. Awang Haji Mohidin, in Acting Senior Special Duties Officer at the Prime Minister's Office, as well as Mr. Awang Shamsualbahri the Head of Executive IT Protective Security Services, (ITPSS), Mrs. Dayang Abdul Ghani, Senior System Analyst at the eGovernment National Center (EGNC), and Mrs. Dayang Mohammed, Manager,Authority For Info-Communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam, (AITI).

  • Deputy Premier inaugurates the 5th Bahrain International E-Government Forum 2012

    His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Informatics and Telecommunication Technology (SCICT) announced the E-government Authority’s (EGA) new National Strategy, and described it as a new step towards developing the Kingdom’s e-government services in accordance with international standards.

    HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa announced the the E-government New Strategy as he inaugurated the 5th Bahrain Bahrain International E-Government Forum 2012 hosted by EGA in cooperation with the Bahrain Society of Engineers and Bahrain Society for Informatics Technology.

  • E-cards date set for all Bahrainis

    Bahrainis will be issued their Smart identity cards after the three-day Eid holiday.

    The renewable card, a cornerstone of Bahrain's e-government project, will be valid for five years, Central Informatics Organisation (CIO) Under-Secretary Mohammed Ahmed Al Amer revealed yesterday.

    It will be processed at the Isa Town-based CIO to automatically replace the old CPR card.

  • E-gate to attract more FDIs - Bahrain

    The launch of the state-of-the-art e-gateway of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce is seen as a major step forward to stimulate local, regional and international investments by offering a virtual access to invest in all vital sectors, a senior government official said yesterday.

    Minister Dr. Hassan Fakhro, who unveiled the e-gateway, said that such virtual facilities would essentially elevate the Kingdom's status as one of the most attractive destinations of choice for foreign investors.

  • e-Government Experience in Bahrain Praised

    Speakers at the Bahrain e-Government Forum 2012 have expressed their appreciation to the event organisers, noting that the kingdom's hosting of such a forum has offered attendants a good opportunity to take advantage of ICT pioneers' rich experience and expertise.

    For Stefan Gehrke, Founding Member and Chairman of Open the Open Data Networks in Germany, who is paying his first ever to the region, asserted that Bahrain's experience in the field of open data is "unique", expressing confidence that the kingdom will succeed in the new phase in which open data will be developed, which, he said, was outlined the new National Strategy of the e-Government Authority.
