The eGovernment Authority of Bahrain has partnered with telecommunications company VIVA Bahrain to allow citizens to recharge their prepaid broadband and mobile services online through Bahrain’s egovernment portal.

Customers can launch the VIVA payment service from the egovernment portal and add credit to their prepaid accounts by entering their prepaid number and selecting the desired topup amount. Payments can be made through Visa, MasterCard or debit cards from various banks.

We are keen to increase partnerships with the private sector in order to improve collaboration among corporations to achieve better results that are in line with the National eGovernment Strategy 2016”, said Mohammed Ali AlQaed, CEO of the eGA. “This strategy emphasises the importance of joint cooperation between the public and private sectors”.

The service will soon be upgraded to offer online payment of postpaid bills too.
