The Sultanate of Oman ranking has improved in the United Nations eGovernment Survey 2018 published by United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA), according to the ITA. Oman is ranked 63 out of the 193 member state countries.

Compared to the 2016 scores, Oman has improved on all the three indices and is ranked 6th among the Arab countries and 2nd in the online services index.

Royal Oman Police is the first by 71% in terms of e-services usage

According to a survey conducted by the Information Technology Authority (ITA) on the individuals’ satisfaction with eGovernment services in Oman, 81% use the government eServices. The survey, which was conducted in the period from 1 to 24 March 2018, focused on measuring the satisfaction of individuals with eGovernment services of Ministry of Manpower, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Royal Oman Police, and Ministry of Health. The survey targeted citizens and residents aged 18 and above.

The second edition of Oman International Trade & Exhibitions' (OITE) Smart Cities & Smart Cities summit explores roles of AI and IoT in advancing economy Industry 4.0 Summit, a part of Comex Business, began on Tuesday at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.

It was inaugurated by H E Dr Yahya bin Nasser al Khusaibi, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Legal Affairs.

The State Council on Monday hosted CEO and officials from Information Technology Authority (ITA) in the presence of its chairman, H E Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri, the two vice chairpersons, several members and Dr Khalid bin Salem al Saidi, secretary general of the State Council.

Dr Saidi welcomed Dr Salim bin Sultan al Ruzaiqi, CEO of ITA to make a visual presentation on the work of ITA, its services and how those services are utilised to serve public interest, stated a press release.

The initiative is part of a major project of the Ministry which is being implemented under Qatar e-Government 2020 Strategy.
