As part of its focus on e-governance, the Ministry of Manpower (MoM) is conducting a week-long survey at its headquarters to streamline services.
This survey is conducted every year to know about the departments most visited by employees and employers and how e-governance can reduce paper work.

In two months’ time, the Ministry of Manpower (MoM) is planning to introduce an online system for registering work-related complaints.
“Our aim is to reduce the number of people visiting labour offices across the country to lodge complaints. The complaints can be related to workload, work conditions, pay and benefits, discipline, demotion, harassment, improper classification or denial of earned overtime or any type of problems at workplaces,” Saeed bin Nasser al Saadi, Advisor to H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Abdullah al Bakri, Minister of Manpower, told Muscat Daily.

Omanis and expatriates can now access all e-Government services thanks to a new Electronic Certificate service, which provides each person with a digital identity and has been launched by the Information Television Authority (ITA) in cooperation with the Royal Oman Police (ROP).
The service called ‘Tam’ allows registered citizens and residents to use government electronic services and finish transactions in a fast and secure way.

Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) has been providing high-end electronic services that contribute to facilitating the investment process in Oman.
PEIE’s efforts were recognised when it received the Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in e-Government for the Best e-Project Individual for the Estate Management System project in 2012.
Commenting on services offered by PEIE, Ali Al Harthy, acting director of IT Department at PEIE, stated that the department is currently geared up to develop several electronic services.

The Ministry of Manpower launched an awareness campaign on activating the e-authentication services (PKI) for the Ministry's employees in a bid to benefit from the e-services that were activated in 2015. The new service is related to e-nomination of job seekers, e-licensing and e-authentication of Omanis' employment contracts.
The service ensures high quality of security, accuracy and credibility.
