Agreement signed to develop platform that will provide more than 60 e-services related to planning, surveying

Oman’s Minister of Housing Sheikh Saif bin Mohammed al-Shabibi signed an agreement with analytics platform Bahwan Cyber Tech to develop e-services for the sultanate’s Housing Ministry within its digital and e-government initiatives programme.

A top Royal Oman Police (ROP) official said that the police has successfully linked the civil registry with more than 200 health institutions.

According to official, e-linking made it easy to transfer birth and death data directly to the civil status system, thus speeding up procedures for obtaining certificates related to birth and death.

The Information Technology Authority (ITA) and Omantel have signed a pact for smart city services.

As per the agreement, Omantel will provide the required communication and support services like the Internet of things (IoT), cloud computing, and big data to the smart city pilot project being implemented in the Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM).

The smart city project is being implemented by ITA in cooperation with the Public Establishment for Industrial estates (Madayn).

Unified procurement of hardware and software for implementation of the eGovernment strategy guidelines was among the issues discussed at a regional meeting, here on Sunday.
