Transforming Government since 2001

Smart Dubai, a city-wide government-backed initiative dedicated to transform Dubai into leading technological hub, on July 30 announced a partnership with Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC) Courts to develop the legal system on the blockchain.

Through the cooperation, several aspects will be tested. Partners plan to establish a verification system for court decisions ensuring cross-border enactment. The whole legal process will be modernized, and blockchain technology will help to raise process efficiency, for instance, to eliminate the need of having several document copies. Further, the research will include appealing procedures via smart contracts.
