TRA Conducts a Training on the Latest Developments in mGovernment Enablers 2019

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has conducted today a training program on the latest and most important developments and trends in the mGovernment enablers of 2019, in coordination with the Prime Minister’s Office, and with the presence of more than 280 persons representing all local and federal government entities, in Al Habtoor City – Dubai.

The UAE PASS initiative aims to eventually allow citizens to access all UAE government services via smartphone with a single set of login details.

Smart Dubai has integrated seven government entities into the UAEPASS platform, completing phase one of the programme.

The UAE PASS initiative, which will eventually cover the whole United Arab Emirates (UAE), aims to allow residents and visitors to seamlessly access government services via smartphones, without the need to visit service centres, and with a single set of login details.

Seven government entities’ services can be accessed on smartphone

Smart Dubai has successfully completed phase one of the UAEPASS initiative — its nation-wide programme for digital identity — integrating seven leading government entities to date.

This allows citizens, residents and visitors to seamlessly access the entities’ services via smartphones, without the need to visit service centres, and with a single set of login details. The seven government entities are the Dubai Department of Economic Development, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Dubai Police, Dubai Courts, Dubai Land Department, Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and Dubai Civil Defence.

Aim is to improve customer services and increase living standards

The UAE yesterday launched a national strategy for artificial intelligence (AI) to improve customer services, assess government performance and increase living standards as well as to harness AI technology in the transport, tourism, health and education sectors.

The AI strategy 2031 was launched during Sunday’s Cabinet meeting chaired by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in the presence of Lt Gen Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.
