Smart Dubai is at the forefront of bringing digitisation
Dubai has taken the challenge to build a smart city head on and it is laying the foundation of happiness for future generations. This is evident from the projects and initiatives Smart Dubai is currently working on.
Speaking at the Gitex Technology Week on Monday, Dr Aisha bint Butti bin Bishr, director-general of Smart Dubai Office, said the government would go all out to ensure the happiness of residents.

The Department of eGovernment, Sharjah, announced that 36 government departments in the Emirate are to participate in the GITEX Technology Week 2018.
All participating government departments will be showcasing their latest services at the pavilion of Sharjah Government, and a number of innovative technological projects are to be unveiled for the first time GITEX.

As a strategic partner of Smart Dubai, du established Dubai Pulse platform in 2017- the digital backbone of the city that offers the means of sharing data in order to be utilized by decision makers encouraging innovation. Smart cities are gaining traction in the Middle East, but creating a future-proof master plan to design, build, and retrofit the urban world is a challenge. Hamed Zaghw, chief executive officer of Aecom, said planning is key to ensuring that the evolutionary nature of technology does not render long-term smart city initiatives in the Middle East obsolete.

In applying best global practices to enhance effective government-customer participation, the TRA has launched a promotional campaign to enrich content of the Official Portal of UAE Government, relying on the "crowdsourcing" method, where it allows users to contribute to content editing and development with their ideas and suggestions, as well as providing any information unavailable on the Portal, and correcting any language errors that may exist.
