  • IT: Treviso: Smart City in Pieve di Soligo, protocol signed with WINDTRE

    WINDTRE and the municipality of Pieve di Soligo have signed a memorandum of understanding to support the transition towards the Smart City model.

    The objective of the collaboration is to identify development paths dedicated to the public administration to design and manage innovative solutions aimed at citizens and businesses with urban digitalisation initiatives, development of technological skills and the digital culture of the territory.

  • IT: Tuscany: Arezzo boosts sustainable transport with e-scooters

    The Italian municipality is working with micromobility provider Tier to deploy 150 e-scooters via mandatory parking zones as part of a one-year trial period.

    Tier Mobility has announced it is introducing 150 e-scooters in the Italian city of Arezzo, Tuscany, to help boost sustainable transport options.

    The company was the sole operator selected by the municipality of Arezzo and will provide the service for a one-year trial period. The 150 e-scooters are positioned in the 68 mandatory parking zones available in the city.

  • IT: Venice: What does a smart city look like?

    In a keynote presentation at Merchant Payments Ecosystem 2024 in Berlin, Hemlata Narasimhan, president of Elavon explored what a smart city could look like in 2030, using Venice, Italy as a case study.

    The presentation started with an AI of Venice as a smart city speaking to the audience from the future, explaining how it can charge people automatically for congestion, allow tourists to book and pay for gondola rides using biometric technology, and control autonomous electric vehicles as they drive around the city and charge.

  • Italia: Cliclavoro - a new public portal on employment issues

    Cliclavoro, a portal launched by the Italian Ministry of Labour and Social Policy on 22 October 2010, aims to serve as a broker between job supply and demand and to connect together the systems formed by businesses, educational / training bodies and social policy.

    The main purpose of the portal is to ensure easy and direct access to a complete and detailed catalogue of information and services relating to employment, through a shared and cooperative IT system.

    "The modernisation process of public administration is advancing with full sails. The indicators reveal that the first phase, with 134 'digital workshops', advance 62 pct on average," declared Innovation and Technology Minister Lucio Stanca, on inaugurating the fifth Salon of local Euro P.A. autonomies, undergoing in Rimini fair.

    Speaking at a conference organized by provincial authorities in Como, the minister for technological innovation, Lucio Stanca, said that "84pct of the projects included in the first stage of the e-government plan had already been completed in early December compared to just 40pct in September 2004. Therefore, we can still achieve the objective that we set for this term of office".

    "We must work together" said Viktor Ivanov, Vladimir Putin's right hand man and a key member in the Russian presidential administration, at the end of a meeting with Lucio Stanca, the Italian Minister for Innovation and technologies. The meeting focused on e-government projects and technological innovation schemes adopted by Italy. Ivanov heads the presidential commission established by Putin on the introduction of information technologies in Russian public administrations.

  • Italian E-Government Initiative Protects Privacy With Decru

    Decru, Inc., the leader in networked data storage security, today announced that the Italian government will use Decru DataFort(TM) storage security appliances to secure the personal information of Italian citizens, as the country launches its e-government initiative. In an unprecedented effort to automate services and improve communication between city governments, service providers, and Italian citizens, Italy's government is working with AGSM Telecomunicazioni, a multi-utility provider, to build a secure e-commerce infrastructure.

  • ITALIAN E-GOVERNMENT MUST RISE TO EUROPEAN LEVEL

    "Innovation and Technology Minister Lucio Stanca launched his intention to "Recover levels of efficiency, carry out better services for citizens and the private sector, and bring public administration to the European level as far as quality, efficiency, and transparency" this morning during a meeting on the "evolution of E-government in regional systems" in Francavilla al Mare (Chieti). The Minister arrived in Abruzzo, fifteenth stop of a trip throughout Italy to speak about information service networks available to citizens.

  • Italian lawmakers plan free WiFi

    Italian lawmakers have put forward a proposal for free WiFi in thousands of public places to bridge a gap with other European countries in broadband penetration, e-government and other digital services that is dragging on the economy.

    Under the plan, large shops, taxis, airports, law courts and other public places would have to set up an Internet connection and offer free no-password wireless access.

  • Italian models appreciated abroad

    The Italian e-Government model is appreciated abroad. Three are always more developing countries' Public Administrations which want to use the digital technologies developed by the Italian government, revealed Innovation and Technology Minister Lucio Stanca at 'Euromed ICT', the conference for European Mediterranean countries on IT, promoted by the European Commission in Dundalk (Ireland).

    Minister Stanca said that "more countries are joining the 16, of which Italy is advancing the e-Government Initiative for Development realized by the Technical Unit of the ministries by partnership such as UN, the World Bank, the InterAmerican Development Bank and the Development Gateway Foundation of Washington.

  • Italien stoppt Wahlcomputer-Projekte

    In der italienischen Regierung gibt es offenbar einen Konsens darüber, den Einsatz von Wahlcomputern nicht weiter zu forcieren. Innenminister Giuliano Amato habe auf einer Konferenz in Rom bereits den Stopp aller Projekte zur Implementierung von Wahlmaschinen bekannt gegeben, berichtet die Nachrichtenagentur AGI (Agenzia Giornalistica Italia). Dies sei mit den einzelnen Ministerien und Regierungschef Romano Prodi abgesprochen.

  • Italien: „e-Südtirol“ soll Bürokratie abbauen

    Unter dem Kürzel "eSüdtirol" steht ab heute der Entwurf des Aktionsplans für die Entwicklung der Informationsgesellschaft in Südtirol im Netz. Alle Interessierten haben nun bis zum 2. Oktober Zeit den Plan anzusehen, zu diskutieren, ihre Stellungnahmen abzugeben und Vorschläge zu unterbreiten.

  • Italien: 14 Gemeinden in Südtirol werden innerhalb 2006 ans Breitbandnetz angebunden

    Noch innerhalb des Jahres werden 14 Südtiroler Gemeinden an das Breitbandnetz angebunden. Die Ergebnisse der entsprechenden Ausschreibung hat heute (7. Juli) Informatiklandesrat Hans Berger vorgestellt. "Was früher der Ausbau des Straßennetzes war, ist heute die Anbindung an das Breitbandnetz - er ist für die Peripherie lebenswichtig", so Berger.

    Wenn man Unternehmen halten, damit weiterhin Arbeitsplätze in den ländlichen Gemeinden bieten wolle, dann müsse man den Unternehmen auch die Voraussetzungen zur Entwicklung bieten, ist der Landesrat überzeugt. "Und da ist die Anbindung an das Breitbandnetz nun einmal unerlässlich." Außerdem erfülle diese Anbindung auch einen sozialen Zweck: "eLearning, eGovernment, Telearbeit - wenn wir die Bürger in der Peripherie von diesen Möglichkeiten nicht ausschließen wollen, müssen wir den Breitbandanschluss garantieren", erklärt Berger.

  • Italien: Amtliche Präferenz für Open Source ist rechtmäßig

    Ein Urteil (in italienisch) des italienischen Verfassungsgerichts hat ein im Piemont erlassenes Gesetz bestätigt, das eine generelle Bevorzugung freier und quelloffener Software bei Beschaffungen der öffentlichen Hand vorschreibt. Gegen diese im März 2009 erlassene Richtlinie hatte die italienische Regierung geklagt, da sie wettbewerbsfeindlich sei, berichtet das Open Source Observatory and Repository (OSOR)der EU.

  • Italien: Bologna bekommt ein kostenloses Wi-Fi-Netz

    Italien, Du hast es besser (wenn es denn nicht gerade um Fußball geht): In Bologna kann bald jeder Bürger drahtlos, schnell und vor allem kostenlos ins Internet gehen.

    Das Projekt "Iperbole Wireless" decke erstmals in einer italienischen Stadt ein historisches Stadtzentrum ab, erklärte der Stellvertretende Bürgermeister auf der Website von Bologna. Das Netz wurde demnach vom RoamAD-Partner Hi-Tel und dem örtlichen Internet Service Provider Acantho realisiert und von der Stadt, der Universität Bologna und den Laboratori G. Marconi finanziell unterstützt.

  • Italien: Bozen: E-Government-Bilanz - LR Berger: "Ziel ist die papierlose Verwaltung"

    Unbeirrt setzt das Land seinen Weg in Richtung papierlose Verwaltung fort. Informatiklandesrat Hans Berger hat heute (12. Juni) einen Überblick über die E-Government-Angebote des Landes gegeben, also über all jene Dienste, die sich der digitalen Technologien bei der Information der Bürger und der Kommunikation mit ihnen bedienen. Basis ist das Südtiroler Bürgernetz mit 25 Millionen Zugriffen 2008.

    1995 hat das Land mit dem Aufbau des Bürgernetzes (www.provinz.bz.it) begonnen und seither die Angebote auf den Webseiten kontinuierlich ausgebaut. Die Palette der Informationen für die Bürger reichen von Presseaussendungen über den Wetterbericht und Verkehrsmeldungen bis hin zur Online-Zahlung der Autosteuer, zum Online-Ansuchen um Stipendien oder zum Einblick in Katasterdokumente. So kommt das Bürgernetz seit Jahresbeginn auf rund 25 Millionen Zugriffe im Jahr, davon registriert der Wetterdienst 1,6 Millionen, das Katasterangebot Openkat 750.000, die Seiten des Landespresseamts 632.000 und die Arbeitsbörse 187.000.

  • Italien: Bozen: Grundbuchdaten im Pustertal vollständig digitalisiert

    Das Pustertal ist der erste Bezirk, in dem die alten Hauptbücher des Grundbuchs ausgedient haben und durch den Computer ersetzt worden sind. "Um sich die Leistung der Mitarbeiter vor Augen zu führen, muss man wissen, dass es im Pustertal rund 145.000 Parzellen gibt, sehr viele davon unterteilt in materielle Anteile", so der zuständige Landesrat Hans Berger heute (2. März) auf einer Pressekonferenz in Bruneck.

    "Im Zeitalter der Informatisierung muss die öffentliche Hand mit gutem Beispiel vorangehen und nicht hinter der Entwicklung herhinken", so der Landesrat bei der Pressekonferenz zum Abschluss der Digitalisierung der Pusterer Grundbuchdaten.

  • Italien: Bozen: LR Frick und LR Berger: "Die Online-Wirtschaftsförderung rückt näher"

    Südtirols Unternehmer, die um Wirtschaftsförderung ansuchen, können ihre Anträge bald „online“ an die zuständigen Landesämter übermitteln. Den Weg dafür hat die Landesregierung heute (23. Jänner) geebnet, indem sie ein E-Government-Pilotprojekt des Landesressorts für Handwerk genehmigt hat. Für die Landesräte Werner Frick und Hans Berger fällt damit der Startschuss für den Ausbau der öffentlichen Verwaltung zu einem modernen und zeitgemäßen Dienstleistungsunternehmen.
